My husband is so AWESOME!!!
Seriously, I have the BEST husband ever!!! Not only is he so dang HOT, but he is so dang good to me!!! I have found over the years that I need to be careful what I say I want. Because if Ryan hears about it, he goes out and gets it for me as soon as he can. Well last Thanksgiving we were in Las Vegas visiting family and I was in training for a marathon (the race was to take place in May). I had a 10 miler to run and Ryan was my bodyguard. He rode (very slowly) his dad's bike next to me while I ran this great distance. It wasn't easy but Ryan is a great coach and helped me along. He talked about life, our future, our goals, and things that we wanted out of life. He asked me what I wanted (material thing). I'm a really simple person. I could be happy with nothing but Ryan made me dream big. He said that it helps him to work harder so he can provide those things for me. Well as of a week before my birthday he has purchased everything on that list. He works so hard and makes me feel so loved. I feel so blessed to be with a man that cares for me that much. That would put so much effort into my "want" list. That would make my dreams, his dreams. I love him so every much!!
My "WANT" list
- a new computer (apple of course)
- sewing machine
- new camera
-food storage
- to be debt free (we are still working on this but Ryan is working so hard and doing so great)

Provo City 1/2 Marathon 2011
Mom and Dad (Miller) offered to watch our kids over night so we could be in Provo the morning of our big race. We were so grateful for the chance to get away for a night. We stayed at the Marriot hotel, registered for the race, shopped (for a belly bra) and ate a meal filled with carbs at the Olive Garden. The night before the big race I was exhausted, but had a bad cough and found myself up until 1:30. It was so maddening. We woke up at 6:20 am, showered, dressed, checked out of the hotel and made our way to where the starting line was. With 10 minutes to warm up and stretch we found ourselves a good place in the line up and waited for the gun to go off. Everyone started off at a good pace. Ryan said lets just run our race so we walked our 1 minute and ran our 2 minutes. This was to be our routine throughout the race. We learned it from Jeff Gallaway. As we neared the two mile marker I thought for sure that we would be in last place. But as we continued on the people that decided to start too fast were tiring out. We would walk and then our run was strong and eventually we would pass people. It was really fun. That is my favorite part. Especially now that I am 23 weeks pregnant. The looks I get when I pass them is priceless. I had a lot of people say," are you pregnant"?, "You are my hero", "I want to be like you when I'm pregnant". All of those thing made me feel so good. We continued on the coarse and found ourselves on a trail that followed the Provo River. It was beautiful! The water running next to us, the trees, the people out enjoying the pretty day (77 degrees that day. Highest temp so far this spring). When we got off that path we were back on the streets. Ryan's knee had been hurting since mile 2 and was now hurting really bad. He was really tough and continued our walk/run routine. We found ourselves at mile 11 hitting a wall. The sun was hot at this point and very little shade to protect ourselves from it. I think I was starting to have a little heat stroke. Not good for a pregnant woman. Ryan was hurting yet we contined on. The helpers along the way kept on telling us that we were close to the finish line, but I serously did not believe them. As we came to the finish line I got a little teary eyed. We did it!! We finished the race even though it was tough, even though I was pregnant, and we didn't come in last place. I was so happy. They had oranges and water at the finish line. I grabbed a couple slices and a water. Oh, those were the best oranges ever!! We walked around in disbelief for a little while. Ate a little breakfast (1 french toast and honey to dip it into ) and then left. We came in 60th place in our age group, our time was 2 hours and 52 minutes. I feel very pleased with that time. I am so proud of Ryan for doing this with me. He continued even though he hurt. He said that he would run it with me even though he does not like running at all. He is awesome! WE DID IT!!! Next big adventure is our baby boy that is coming in September.

We decided to go to the airport on the island. We heard that the plane came in so close to the beach you would almost be blown over by the power of the plane. Once again the beach was amazing. The guys had their swimming suits on and did some wave surfing. It was a little too crazy for Ryan and I. The waves were big and threw some of our guys around a lot. It was a miracle that no one was hurt.
This place was really crazy. A month prior to our stop on this island they had a really bad hurricane. It really hurt this island. We were the first boat to dock in a month or so and the people were hungry. As we got off the ship the people swarmed us. Trying to get us to take their taxi, buy their product, or eat their food. I felt so many emotions on this day. Sorrow for not wanting their service, scared because they were so pushy, and mad because they wouldn't listen to our replies.
We (Ryan, myself and the Wisers) walked around the shops looking for souvenirs to take back for our kids. We walked away empty handed. Got into a taxi in search of a beach to just relax on again. The first beach we went to had so much debre on it and the water was brown from all the sediment floating in it. Someone told us that when hurricanes hit they not only affect the land but the oceans as well. The fish and coral reefs. It was sad to see. We walked down the road to a store and bought some candy and treats from the island to give our children. We figured out the public transportation. It was cheaper and fun to talk with the locals. We were then taken to another beach on the other side of the island. It was said that it is quiet and the beaches were not affected by the storm. As we got there we were once again bombarded by people wanting us to use their services. One really old man came up to Laura and I and started reading our palms. He placed a bead in our hand and said things like we will live a long and prosperous life. That will be $5 dollars. We looked at each other and told the guy no. That we did not ask for his service and that he could have his bead back. He was so rude. We ended up paying to get into this park so we could get away from these people. The Park was called Pigeon Island. It was fun to read the history of the island and to explore. We found a pretty beach and rested for a while. I swam with Ryan while the Wisers watched our thing and we did the same for them. The day before Jordan Sharp's things were stolen.
After we were done we decided to head back to the boat. The guy that was driving our bus (a mini van), said that he would come back for us. After waiting for a while we decided to walk to the bus stop. We probably walked two miles. It was fun but we were tired at this point. Once we were on the bus Shane had some interesting conversations with the driver. We listened and watched school teachers and students coming and going on this bus. This was how they got around. Everyone was cordial. I found myself looking into peoples eyes to get a feel for what they were like (good or bad). Our driver had good, kind eyes. That made me feel at peace being in his bus. It was a crazy day but we had an adventure. I am glad that we experienced that instead of staying on board the ship.
